The Art of Sustainability: GII Workforce Development Conference

Who Am I?

I'm Steve Snow, an independent consultant, past president and founding board member of the U.S. Association For Community Networking. I've spent my adult life in communications, in newspapers and magazines as a writer and editor and, for the last 10 years, in telecommunications, pioneering development of community-wide information systems. That has led me to work with a variety of communities, governments and organizations on a wide variety of issues.

I run Community Consulting Inc. ( www.commcure.com). I work with organizations, communities and corporations to help them learn to communicate for both productivity and humanness, help create new opportunities for citizens and to explore new kinds of telecommunication infrastructure deployment (in other words, I help figure out the best way for them to hook up all the wires and "stuff.") If you ever want to reach me for any reason, including follow-up about this session, please send me e-mail at: shsnow@commcure.com . You can call me at 704.569.0243, also, but I answer e-mail faster.

I also am a graduate student in the Counseling Program at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

In the past 10 years, I have had to do a lot of collaborating to sustain new ideas. Neils Boer, the great atomic physicist, once described an expert as one who had made all the mistakes possible in a narrow field.

Consider me an expert in collaboration and sustainability.
