Therapy/Integrated Care-Related Workshops
The Trauma-Aware workplace
A workshop that describes the essentials of a workplace that is sensitive to the needs of traumatized clientele and patients. the workshop, through didactic and experiential modules, leaves participants with an understanding of psychological trauma from multiple perspectives and provides guidelines for addressing difficult or reactive clients or patients. Available as a half-day or full day session, with workbook. didactic and experiential components make up this workshop.Integrated behavioral Health in Primary Care
Available are a full range of options, from single-day trainings on various aspects of integrated care to a full assessment of a primary care setting and the design, creation and maintenance of a behavioral health component, including setting up the billing processes to generate revenue for the practice or public health department. There are both didactic and experiential aspects to the training.Sand Tray Therapy This is a one-day training for mental health practitioners and therapists on the set-up, use and value of sand tray as a treatment modality for both children and adults. Sand Tray is a powerful approach to unconscious processes and can help patients and clients make significant progress in their health journies. This training has both didactic and experiential elements.
Parent Training Using Parent-Child Relational Theory as a base, this training can take many forms.
For therapists it can be a one-day training in the application of PCRT techniques in training parents to be more effective with their children. >br> For parents, it can be a 10-week course designed to provide all a parent needs to be a truly connected and "in charge" presence who provides security, safety and appropriate containment for their children. This training has both didactic and experiential elements. This presentation was first given to the National Workforce Conference of Goodwill International in the Spring of 2002. I'm still working on it, but the essence of it is that rather than money killing good projects, it is our lack of solid personal relationships that does networking in. The presentation is about how to build and maintain those relationships. These pages are kind of the skeleton.Play Therapy
Play Therapy is a powerful, highly studied, evidence-based approach to dealing with troubled children ages 2-9. It has been shown to be effective across cultures and ethnic groups, as well. It also has been shown to be effective in working with children who have Autism Spectrum Disorders. Therapists can get much of what they need in four one-day group process, with follow-up supervision for specific clients or patients. This material also can be presented as a one-day, pre-conference briefing, or a half-day group-based training for therapists, with a combination of didactic and experiential elements.Family Violence Offender Treatment
This workshop defines the psychological profile of domestic/family violence offenders, the origins of their current behavior and sets forth a group process to address the deficits that result in family violence. This workshop can be done in a half-day or all-day format, with a combination of didactic and experiential elements.CN-Related Workshops
